Behind-the-scenes process of creating my non-fiction, illustrated book Red Sails & Pilchards.
It was the first published book I’ve written, illustrated and designed myself so I was very glad to have the expert guidance Joe Pearson at Design For Today.
The whole project took over three years to complete as I was still working full time at Seasalt Cornwall during much of it. I tried to document my progress as much as possible and have used the footage to make this longer four minute video, that goes through the whole process from inspiration, research and sketches to the final illustrations, design and print. I’ll post some shorter reels of individual stages soon too.
