I’m super excited on the rare occasion I spot a raven’s nest. They are such huge, messy stacks of twigs and always in such dramatic and forbidding places. This one was in a spectacularly sheer cliff face. The nest was far below me in the cliff but I’ve tried to imagine it on the ledge, from the raven’s eye view.

Ravens often nest very early in the year so I used this illustration for February in my 2025 calendar and diary. It’s not been the most popular design in the Penwith series but it is one mine and Kathryn’s favourites.
